pick up ticks
I pick up the verbal ticks of those around me.
The RM says "Ah Know!"
Picked that up.
Today a phrase popped in my head.
"I'm not gonna lie to you ..." as a preface to a statement of goofiness.
R. and I like to use the absurd expository statement from "24": "I know I don't have to tell you that..." and its corollary, in a velvety whisper: "I don't have time to explain right now."
Can you tell we finally finished watching season 5?
Hey, Sooz, you were in CA? *sniffle* Oh, and could you please explain how exactly the scientistas are making cancer drugs out of chicken eggs? Are we all going to be half-chicken? Aren't most of us already?
We should make up phrases, then use them at parties or at work like they're common phrases and the people around us are idiots for not knowing them --- like "well, you know, you can't grow an apple tree from a peach seed!" and then act all serious shaking our heads and tsking. We'd drive people nuts!:-)

I have never heard of this chicken egg cancer drug thing. Sounds delicious. I would like my chemo-ovum over easy with a side of hashbrowns, please.

fishlamp: I just used a remix of that. Mind was: "As some of you might already know ..." Hangs head in shame.
