I am just trying to get it down so I don't forget. Which happens a lot. My non-virtual journal entries tend to devolve into lists of things to do that never get done. This place is filling up fast with brainfarts. Here, take this clothespin.
If Google brought you here, I'm sorry. You are unlikely to find what you were searching for. But there's plenty to see if you care to browse around.
I actually watched this video way back in 1998, when I was taking a course on the political economy of the Middle East. There were similar videos of Norman Schwarzkoph and plenty of publically available memos exchanged between Bush, Baker, and Powell that made the same points. Nobody was trying to keep it a secret - they all felt justified in calling off the invasion, and probably were.
However, when I tried to tell my pro-war acquaintances and family members to go back and review these documents, they acted as if I were spouting conspiracy-theory nonsense.
Fucking mainstream Americans... the closest they'll ever come to understanding political science is watching a Jerry Bruckheimer movie with Arab villains.
